• Hang the strips with 50% overlap so that the door closes without gaps.
• Follow your site's ESD earthing practice for the frame and rail; ask your ESD coordinator how the entrance should be bonded.
• Keep the strips clean. Dust and grease on the surface can reduce the anti-static effect. Clean with mild soap and water, not solvents.
• Check the strips during your regular ESD audits and replace any that are damaged.

Common mistakes

• Using standard PVC at an ESD-area entrance. It adds a static source exactly where people enter.
• Expecting the curtain to replace ESD controls. Wrist straps, footwear, flooring and earthing are still needed.
• Mixing anti-static and standard strips on one door. Replace damaged strips with the same anti-static grade.
• Cleaning with harsh chemicals. Solvents can damage the PVC surface.
